Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen secured his fourth consecutive championship title with a fifth-place finish at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, joining an elite group of only six drivers to achieve four or more titles in F1 history.

Mercedes dominated the race with a 1-2 finish, as George Russell claimed victory followed by Lewis Hamilton, while Ferrari's Carlos Sainz Jr. completed the podium. Hamilton's impressive performance saw him climb from 10th position on the grid to finish second.

The focus now shifts to the Constructors' Championship with two races remaining. Current standings show:

  • McLaren: 608 points (-400 odds)
  • Ferrari: 584 points (+250 odds)
  • Red Bull: 555 points (+10000 odds)

The F1 scoring system awards points to the top ten finishers:

  • 1st place: 25 points
  • 2nd place: 18 points
  • 3rd place: 15 points
  • Positions 4-10: 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1 points
  • Bonus point for fastest lap (if finishing in top 10)

The Las Vegas Grand Prix, run on a temporary 6.2-kilometer street circuit featuring 17 turns, showed significant improvements from last year's inaugural event with fewer infrastructure issues and technical problems.

Lando Norris recorded the fastest lap on the final circuit with an average speed of 235.292 km/h. Looking ahead to Qatar, current betting odds favor Norris (+225), followed by Verstappen (+300) and Russell (+600).

The remaining 2024 F1 races will take place in Qatar (Nov. 29-Dec. 1) and Abu Dhabi (Dec. 6-8), where the Constructors' Championship will be decided.
