Verstappen Clinches Historic 4th F1 Title as Russell Dominates Las Vegas GP
Max Verstappen secured his fourth consecutive F1 Driver's Championship at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, finishing fifth in a race won by Mercedes' George Russell. This historic achievement makes Verstappen only the sixth driver in F1 history to win four championships, joining the ranks of Alain Prost and Sebastian Vettel.

Russell dominated the race from pole position, leading Mercedes to their first one-two finish since the 2022 Brazilian Grand Prix, with Lewis Hamilton taking second place. Ferrari secured the next two positions, with Carlos Sainz Jr. finishing third and Charles Leclerc fourth.
The race, held on the 3.8-mile temporary street circuit incorporating the Las Vegas Strip, marked Verstappen's championship-clinching performance as he finished ahead of McLaren's Lando Norris, who came in sixth.
"To stand here as a four-time world champion is something I never thought would be possible," Verstappen reflected during the post-race press conference at the Bellagio. "This season taught me a lot of lessons and we handled it well as a team."
Despite individual successes, Red Bull Racing currently sits third in the Constructor's Championship standings, behind McLaren and Ferrari, with Mercedes in fourth. The F1 season concludes with two remaining races: the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on December 15 and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on December 22.
The Las Vegas Grand Prix, in its second year, continues to generate mixed economic impact, benefiting major casinos while reportedly causing revenue losses for smaller local businesses due to extended access restrictions during the event period.
