The management shift comes after struggles under previous operator Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment. Atkinson, who will serve as CEO of C&C 4455, acknowledged these challenges during the NGCB meeting and outlined plans for improvement, including:

  • Enhanced marketing to local players and visitors
  • Additional entertainment and amenities
  • Expanded customer loyalty programs

Meanwhile, the Culinary Union Local 226 strike, which began November 15, continues. Union representatives voiced concerns during the NGCB meeting about Virgin Hotels being the last remaining company without a fair contract settlement. The union seeks salary increases and improved benefits, similar to those recently secured at other Las Vegas properties.

The property's ownership, shared between Juniper Capital Management and Richard Branson's Virgin Group, faced criticism for their absence at the meeting. Union member Paul Catha questioned why owners weren't required to attend the casino operation application review.

Virgin Hotels Las Vegas maintains that the Culinary Union is bargaining in bad faith, stating the union hasn't seriously considered their economic proposals or presented their latest offer to members for voting.

The management change still requires final approval from the Nevada Gaming Commission before taking effect.
