
Princess Cruises Unveils Largest-Ever Casino on $1B Sun Princess Ship
Princess Cruises' newest vessel, the $1 billion Sun Princess, will feature the cruise line's largest-ever casino when it debuts in February 2024. The ship is currently in its final construction phase at Italy's Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone.

The expansive Princess Casino will occupy nearly 9,000 square feet on deck eight, adjacent to the ship's central Piazza. The gaming floor will feature:
- 227 slot machines
- 13 live dealer table games
- High-limit slot area with premium seating
- Linked progressive jackpots for blackjack and poker
- First-ever Buffalo Zone at sea
- New version of The Love Boat themed slot machine
The casino space represents a 50% increase in floor space and 30% more gaming positions compared to Princess Cruises' Royal Class ships. Gaming operations begin once the vessel reaches international waters, 24 nautical miles offshore.
The Sun Princess, measuring 175,500 tons and spanning 1,133 feet, features 21 decks and 2,150 guest cabins. Beyond gaming, the ship offers various attractions including:
- Ropes course
- Splash pad
- Sea Breeze Rollglider (hang-gliding experience with panoramic views)
The vessel's inaugural season will include voyages to the Mediterranean, Europe, and the Caribbean. All casino operations are regulated by the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), following standards based on Nevada Gaming Control Board regulations.
