Nevada gaming revenue fell 4.2% year-over-year to $1.1316 billion in November 2024, marking the second consecutive monthly decline. Slot machines generated $810.6 million, while table games, sports betting, keno, and bingo contributed $505.9 million.

The decline occurred despite the Las Vegas Grand Prix Formula One race, with slots revenue dropping nearly 7% while other gaming segments remained flat. The Nevada Gaming Control Board attributes this decrease to two main factors:

  • A challenging comparison to November 2023, which was the third-highest revenue month in state history
  • The calendar effect of November 2024 ending on a Saturday, pushing some weekend revenue into December's results

Regional Performance:

  • Las Vegas Strip: Down 3.9% to $788.7 million
  • North Las Vegas: Up 6% to $24.5 million
  • Mesquite: Up 9% to $16.4 million
  • Elko: Up 5% to $33.7 million
  • Sparks: Up 8% to $15 million
  • Douglas County: Down 20% to $14.4 million
  • Washoe County: Down 6% to $76 million

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority reported positive outcomes from the F1 race, with November visitor volume increasing 0.6% to 3.31 million people compared to 2023. However, convention attendance declined 8%, and some local businesses reported significant revenue losses during the race period.

Despite mixed results, Michael Lawton, NGCB's senior economic analyst, suggested that without the slot revenue timing issue, the state would have recorded a year-over-year increase.
