Maryland Driver Turns Road Rage Incident Into $500K Lottery Fortune Using License Plate
A Maryland driver turned a frustrating highway encounter into a $500,000 lottery win by using the license plate numbers of a car that cut him off. The Anne Arundel County resident narrowly avoided an accident when another vehicle suddenly cut in front of him on his way home.
Instead of staying angry, the quick-thinking driver memorized the offending vehicle's license plate numbers and later visited Doc's F&B Liquors in Glen Burnie, Maryland. There, he purchased ten "Pick 5" lottery tickets, each playing the same numbers straight for $1.

"I figure if you're going to play, you should play big," the winner told lottery officials. The next morning, he scanned his tickets using the Lottery app and discovered his $500,000 win. He immediately shared the good news with his mother.
The fortunate winner plans to use his windfall wisely, splitting it between paying off existing bills and making future investments. As the seller of the winning ticket, Doc's F&B Liquors will receive a $5,000 bonus from the Maryland Lottery.
"When driving on the highway, you're supposed to obey the rules of the road and be courteous toward other drivers. However, that doesn't always happen," noted the Maryland Lottery statement, proving that sometimes good fortune can emerge from challenging situations.
