Hard Rock Bristol Casino Plans Expansion Just Weeks After $515M Opening
Hard Rock Bristol, which opened on November 14 with a $515 million investment, is already considering expansion plans just weeks after its debut. The casino's ownership group recently acquired 13 acres of adjacent land for $7 million, signaling potential future growth.
The property's local partners, Jim McGlothlin of United and Clyde Stacey of Par Ventures, purchased the vacant land at Catherine Street and Gate City Highway. While currently serving as employee parking, the site is strategically positioned for future development.

Andy Poach, Hard Rock Bristol's spokesperson, confirmed the land acquisition is intended to accommodate future growth demands. While specific expansion plans haven't been announced, industry observers suggest the possibility of adding amenities such as a full-service spa and additional entertainment options, similar to other Hard Rock properties like their Tampa location.
The casino resort, built on the former Bristol Mall site, represents a significant economic investment in Southern Virginia near the Tennessee border. The project came to fruition after state lawmakers approved legislation allowing casino development in select cities requiring economic stimulation.
