Caesars Virginia debuted its $750 million integrated resort casino in Danville this week, drawing enthusiastic crowds and long lines on opening day, December 17. The property stands on the former Dan River Mills textile campus, preserving the iconic Three Sisters smokestacks as a tribute to the city's industrial heritage.

The resort features:

  • 1,500 slot machines
  • 79 live dealer table games
  • 48 electronic table games
  • World Series of Poker Room
  • Caesars Sportsbook
  • 320 hotel rooms
  • 50,000 square feet of meeting space
  • 2,500-seat theater
  • Full-service spa and pool

The property is a joint venture between Caesars Entertainment and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI), extending their successful partnership from North Carolina's tribal casinos.

Dining options include:

  • Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen by the Michelin-starred chef
  • Dan Dan Noodle (Asian cuisine)
  • Three Smokes
  • 500 Block Food Hall by local restaurateur Steve Parry

NBA legend Dennis Rodman hosted the opening ceremonies, which featured a supercar parade through Danville and a fireworks and drone show. Rodman placed the first sports bet - a $100 five-leg parlay on his former NBA teams.

The casino is projected to generate $35-40 million annually for Danville through a 6.5% revenue share agreement, plus additional tax revenue from hotel stays, dining, and entertainment.

Local residents praised the development, with many comparing the experience to Las Vegas and noting its positive impact on the city's transformation. The project successfully combines luxury gaming amenities with local heritage preservation, marking a significant economic milestone for the Danville region.
