Wynn Resorts has reached a significant milestone in constructing its Al Marjan Island casino resort in the UAE, with 55% of the structural concrete work now complete. The project represents a historic development as the first licensed casino in the Arab world.

Located in Ras Al Khaimah, the construction is progressing rapidly with concrete work completed up to the 26th floor and walls extending to the 29th floor. Construction teams are completing one floor weekly, with the tower growing 100 meters in height over the past 100 days. The project aims to top off the hotel tower by December 2025.

Key development highlights:

  • 1,542 total rooms and suites planned
  • 1,121 guest rooms (73%) structurally complete
  • 820 rooms currently undergoing interior fitting
  • 9,100 workers on site daily
  • Over 100 concrete trucks delivering materials

The integrated resort will feature:

  • 15,000-square-meter luxury shopping promenade
  • Five-star spa and salon
  • 7,500-square-meter meetings and events center
  • Theater for entertainment
  • Casino space occupying only 4% of total area

The project recently received its gaming license from the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA), marking the first such approval in the Arab world. Industry analysts expect the UAE to eventually become a multicasino market, with potential to rank as the world's fourth-largest casino market, generating up to $5 billion in annual gross gaming revenue.

The resort's strategic location places it within an eight-hour flight of 96% of the world's population, positioning it as a significant global gaming and entertainment destination. This development signals the UAE's emergence as a pioneer in gaming liberalization within the Middle East, following their recent approval of a lottery permit in Abu Dhabi.
