Family members alerted hotel security after discovering a suicide note at Reyes' California residence. When security attempted to enter his room, they heard what appeared to be a gun being racked. SWAT teams and negotiators were called to the scene.

After failed negotiations, SWAT deployed explosives to breach the door. Reyes charged at officers while holding a shotgun, leading Officer Zachary Adam to fire a fatal shot. Though the shotgun was later found to be unloaded, Reyes also possessed a handgun. The incident is under routine review.

In other casino crime news, William Corgan, 35, was arrested at Stockmen's Casino in Elko, Nevada, for attempted sexual assault. The victim defended herself, causing facial injuries to Corgan. He was held on $5K bail.

At Foxwoods Resort Casino, a Christmas Day car fire in the Fox Tower Garage was quickly extinguished by local fire departments. The incident caused no injuries or operational disruptions. Casino spokesperson Lori Potter confirmed guest and staff safety remained the top priority.
