The Gift Responsibly Campaign (GRC) is a global initiative that discourages adults from giving lottery tickets to children. This expanded version of the former Holiday Lottery Campaign now addresses lottery gifting throughout the year, not just during the holiday season.

Research shows that early exposure to gambling, particularly lottery play, increases the risk of developing gambling problems later in life. The campaign provides three new creative design options, including digital assets for social media promotion.

Organizations can participate at different engagement levels:

  • Lottery Level 1
  • Lottery Level 2
  • Lottery Level 3

The campaign has achieved significant success, with 100% participation from Canadian and U.S. lotteries for three consecutive years, along with support from international lotteries and non-lottery organizations.

The GRC is jointly operated by:

  • The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG)
  • The International Center for Youth Gambling Problems & High Risk Behaviors at McGill University
  • North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL)

If you or someone you know has a gambling problem:

The International Centre for Youth Gambling Problems and High-Risk Behaviors has spent 25 years researching youth gambling issues and developing prevention programs. They provide consultation services to government agencies worldwide for responsible gambling initiatives.
