The penalties include:
- Bellah Sr.: Two years probation, $130 in fines, $136 in fees and court costs
- Bellah II: One year probation, $130 in fines, $68 in fees and court costs
During 2022 raids, authorities seized:
- 100 gambling devices
- $29,204 in cash
- 62 gift cards
The duo initially faced serious charges including conducting a criminal enterprise and using computers to commit a crime. However, through plea deals, they admitted to lesser charges of maintaining a gambling house for gain, with the elder Bellah also pleading guilty to conducting a gambling operation without a license.
MGCB Executive Director Henry Williams emphasized this case demonstrates Michigan's commitment to maintaining gaming industry integrity, while Attorney General Dana Nessel highlighted the successful partnership between her office and the MGCB in dismantling unlicensed gambling operations.
