Nelly won't face criminal charges following his August arrest at Hollywood Casino St. Louis for alleged ecstasy possession, according to St. Louis County prosecuting attorney Wesley Bell. Officials stated they "don't believe the facts in this case warrant the issuing of charges."

The incident occurred on August 7 at 4:45 a.m. when the Grammy-winning rapper attempted to cash out several jackpots, including a $50,000 slot machine win. During a background check for the transaction, officers discovered a 2018 bench warrant for driving without proof of insurance, which has since been cleared.

The warrant led to a vehicle search where officers found four ecstasy pills, classified as a Schedule 1 controlled substance. Nelly (Cornell I. Haynes Jr.) was briefly detained and released, with officers initially recommending felony possession charges.

While Bell's office hasn't detailed the reason for dropping charges, Nelly's attorney previously contested the legality of both the background check and vehicle search.

This isn't Nelly's first brush with drug-related incidents. In 2009, police found methamphetamine, marijuana, and a loaded firearm on his tour bus in Texas, though he wasn't charged with drug possession. In 2001, he was briefly detained in St. Louis after being found with marijuana.
