The Memorial Tournament returns to Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio for its 2022 edition. This prestigious PGA Tour event, founded by Jack Nicklaus in 1976, offers a $12 million purse with $2.16 million going to the winner along with 550 FedEx Cup points.

The recently renovated Muirfield Village course, designed by Nicklaus himself, plays as a challenging 7,500+ yard par-72. Recent upgrades include a new irrigation system, redone bunkers and greens, and added length, maintaining its reputation as one of the Tour's toughest tests.

Seven of the world's top-10 ranked players headline the field, including:

• Jon Rahm (+800) - Tournament favorite and 2020 winner
• Patrick Cantlay (+1000) - Defending champion seeking his third Memorial victory
• Rory McIlroy (+1100) - Looking to bounce back after fading at the PGA Championship
• Xander Schauffele (+1600) - Showing strong form with recent T5 and T13 finishes
• Collin Morikawa (+1800) - Runner-up last year seeking first win of 2021-22 season

Other notable entries include PLAYERS champion Cameron Smith, Bryson DeChambeau returning from injury, and Jordan Spieth. Rickie Fowler and Jason Day are competing on sponsor exemptions.

Last year's tournament saw Cantlay defeat Morikawa in a playoff after Jon Rahm was forced to withdraw while leading by six shots due to a positive COVID-19 test. Only Tiger Woods and Kenny Perry have won the Memorial three times, a feat Cantlay aims to match this week.
