Under this new arrangement, BetMGM will operate as a "key employee" of MGM's sportsbooks, managing crucial functions including:

• Customer service
• Risk and fraud management
• Marketing
• Payment processing

While BetMGM assumes day-to-day operations and enforces house rules, MGM Resorts maintains oversight and policy direction. For significant issues, decisions will be made by MGM casino executives rather than BetMGM staff.

This transition follows several strategic moves by BetMGM in 2024, dubbed their "year of investment":

• Appointed Casey Hurbis as Chief Marketing Officer
• Streamlined digital rewards into a single wallet system
• Introduced cross-state transferable digital wallets
• Enhanced customer experience across platforms

The partnership between MGM Resorts and Entain Plc (50/50 joint venture owners of BetMGM) continues, though industry speculation exists about potential future ownership changes. However, neither company has officially announced plans to alter the current arrangement.
