A vehicle crashed through a parking garage wall at Bally's Evansville Casino & Hotel in Indiana on Monday morning, falling onto the Executive Conference Center roof and causing a partial structure collapse.
Car wreck on damaged casino roof
The incident occurred around 8:45 AM when a vehicle broke through the western wall of the top floor (seventh level) of the parking garage, landing upside down on an escalator in the conference center below. One person was injured, though the driver managed to exit the vehicle without assistance.
Emergency responders reported a significant water leak, which was quickly contained. The Evansville Fire Department deployed multiple units, including a specialized structure collapse team, to assess potential gas leaks and search for trapped individuals.
All casino and security staff were accounted for following an evacuation of both the parking garage and affected building areas. While the parking garage remained structurally sound, a section of the western wall was damaged. Local authorities redirected traffic around the incident site.
According to social media reports, the parking garage had been under construction "for a long time," with upper levels previously closed to vehicles. The incident occurred during an ongoing conference in the Executive Conference Center.
The Evansville Police Department continues to investigate the cause of the accident. Local emergency services remain on scene to assess structural damage and ensure public safety.
